What To Wear With Bright Pink Pants
How
Psoriasis increases a 50% risk of death .
People with severe forms of psoriasis, an inflammatory disease that affects the skin, are more likely to die and die earlier than the general population. However, those with milder variants are not facing this problem, according to a study published in Archives of Dermatology . "
These patients have a 50% chance of dying. Therefore, severe psoriasis is an important predictor of the risk of death, "the authors write. Men die on average 3.5 years earlier and women 4.4 years, compared with healthy subjects. Furthermore, this excess mortality increases with age in men.
On the other hand, the authors note, "some systemic therapies for psoriasis may be associated with increased mortality, although exceptionally, given the chronic toxicity and other reactions. The disease itself, in rare circumstances, can cause death. "
The last paragraph is very interesting, and has led me to wonder the following question: If I had severe psoriasis (I think it is considered well over 20% of injured body surface area) I would submit to a treatment that could shorten my life expectancy in 4 years or more, as stated in the study?. Mmmm ... I surely would, I say that in this living as in so many other premium quality over quantity.
Yes, definitely I would.
